Summer has pretty much arrived and nothing better than going to the beach during that time. It’s actually one of the best place to meet other fellow gays, or simply chill with your lover or friends.

So where to go on vacation this summer when you are gay? Which are the safest place for the LGBT+ people on Earth? Well here is where you should book your next vacation!

The following are the best gay beaches on the planet Earth, most clothing optional. Bookmark this 😉

Panoramic view of Maspalomas beach in Gran Canaria. Spain.

This beach is the southest European beach, it is located in the Gran Canaria island, facing the Sahara desert in Africa.

Maspalomas is located in the Canary Islands and is the most popular gay destination year-round due to its mild, beach-friendly climate all year (due to it being located near the equator). It has a tropical weather all year with very pleasant temperature no matter which moment.

The gay beach here is located at Kiosk 7, which can be found between the Faro de Maspalomas (the lighthouse) and Playa del Ingles. It’s a short 15 to 20-minute walk to get to the beach either walking from the lighthouse along the shore or from the Riu Hotel.

Feel free to take in the s nude at this clothing-optional beach. Loungers are currently free. If you’re feeling freaky, you can head to the dunes behind the beach towards Riu Hotel for some cruising.

After the beach the city is pretty much The gay heaven with tons and tons of gay bars, clubs, saunas, cruising, shops; mostly located in and around the Yumbo center.

2. Lisbon (Portugal)

Dunes Costa Da Caparica Portugal Beach Atlantic

Lisbon is one of the most magical cities in the world. Its gay beach is also one of the most amazing ones.

It’s called Beach 19 and its located in Costa de Caparica near Fonte da Telha. It’s of course clothing optional.

It’s huge and wild, attracting guys of all ages. The natural scenery has made many say this is the most beautiful gay beach in Europe, and it’s quite a peaceful spot, always with enough space to spread your towel.

The “Alice and Wonderland” bushes right behind it makes it for very “interesting” days to say the least…

Sitges is a beach town right next to Barcelona in Spain. It has 3 main gay beaches. Balmins (North), Sitges Center (referred by the nearby Calipolis Hotel, photo above), and the Xiringay Beach where some of the craziest freakiest action we have ever experienced happens. You must see it to believe it. Surprise…

Barcelona proper also has very busy gay beaches. The main one is called Mar Bella Beach (clothing optional) and the other one closer to the city center: San Sebastiao.

Fort Lauderdale has surpassed Miami as Florida’s go-to gay destination. The Sebastian Street Beach, between Sunrise Boulevard and Las Olas Boulevard, is now where the gays of Florida are at. Mostly popular with men, it’s close to the bars, restaurants and nightclubs of Wilton Manors, as well as a plethora of gay hotels and resorts.

Nearby, there’s also Northeast 18th Street Beach, another gay beach, but smaller than Sabastian Street Beach. It is mainly visited by locals.

Most of the beaches in Mykonos are gay-friendly, but Elia Beach is the main one. It is located on the southern side of the island and is pretty chill, there are sunbeds and shades for rent, and drink and snacks available from nearby cafes. More to the right-hand side, by the rocky outcropping is a cruisy cove popular with nude sunbathers.

Elia beach is quite small and narrow so during peak season (July and August) you might not be able to find space. The rocks can make a nice spot, but go beyond them and check out Agrari beach just on the other side. It is less crowded and a bit cruisy, especially in the evening, with coarser sand but the same clear blue waters.

The waterfront bars often turn into clubs on summer nights.

For the romantic ones, popular with gay couples, Panormos is also another gay beach on the northern side of the island and although it’s a bit off the far path, there’s a bus from the center of Mykonos.

In Rio, Ipanema is where it’s at baby! The boys there are toned and tanned. Home to some of the world’s sexiest bodies, Rio de Janeiro has become a hot gay destination and home to a big gay population. The gay section of Ipanema is to the east of Rua Farme de Amoedo, where party promoters often give out flyers to the muscle men, announcing the gay parties at clubs later on. The scenery is beautiful, but no one is really looking at the natural beauty.

After 9pm, the action moves to the half-dozen gay bars and clubs in the area.

Tel Aviv is an open-minded beach city. The gay beach is Hilton Beach, it gets its name from the Hilton Hotel on its border, but the area has been a popular cruising spot since the 1950s.

It is a walking distance from the heart of the city. You’ll meet guys from all over the world on vacation, some newcomers to the city, but all happy to meet a new friend.

Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest days with parties on Saturday Nights. For a more quiet experience, hit the sand on a weekday.

Those who prefer to be clothes-free head to Gaash Beach, about 35 minutes north of the city.

8. puerto vallarta (mexico)

One of the largest gay beaches in Latin America, the Puerto Vallarta beach tops many best-of lists. It’s just referred to as “Blue Chairs“.

Thousands of gay sun worshippers descend to this area for the open-minded, friendly ambiance, and sparkling views of the Banderas Bay.

The most popular place to relax or party during the day is definitely Mantamar Beach Club. With an infinity pool and DJ’s throughout the day, it’s the go-to day drinking place.

Check out out for gay hotels and cafes such as Almar, Blue Chairs and Ritmos.

9. fire island (new york)

Fire Island has been drawing queer New Yorkers for nearly a century. The island’s two queer enclaves, the Pines and Cherry Grove, both have their fans—but the Pines score points for being quieter, less commercially developed and more architecturally interesting.

One of the most famous gay destinations in the world, Fire Island offers gay-friendly accommodation, shopping, events and nightlife.

Pines Beach and Cherry Grove (where nudity is allowed) are the busiest during summer weekends.

While in Los Angeles, Santa Monica State Beach is a safe, choice for a day out by the ocean. Down the shore, at Lifeguard tower 18, Ginger Rogers Beach is recognized as LA’s only (unofficial) gay beach. It’s not the best water for swimming, thoughh.

This is a place to chill and perhaps hopefully run into your crush working in Hollywood.
